Holiday/Winter 2009/2010 Update
This season the current trend for jewelry is all about fashion fundamentals, with an emphasis on chunky. Statement necklaces and chunky chains are still a "must have" focal point to give your entire wardrobe a boost. These oversized ornaments can really dress up the clean lines of a simple night time look, but don’t put them away during the day. Reinvent your white t-shirt and jeans by adding your favorite attention getter around your neck. When wearing a statement necklace, keep the rest of your outfit simple, sophisticated and subdued...allowing the jewelry to grab all the attention. This simply "screams" DeVer Originals with a fabulous sculpted gemstone pendant or a handwoven substantial chain.
The “it” colors for accessories this fall are purple (try amethyst or Sugilite or an amazing Laguna Agate), a deep denim blue (grab that Apatite while it is still around, and lapis lazuli is always a winner) - or a softer blue topaz, and the classics - olive greens, browns and blacks. Accent these basics with bold gemstones, necklaces and colors - and you have the look of the season. “Matchy-matchy” is no longer in, so make sure to keep the colors bright, but not exactly the same hue.
Classics like cameos are popular again - and I have some contemporary beauties direct from the Idar-Oberstein mine and crafting center in Germany. These are so difficult to get so don't delay if you love the cameo look.
Head to toe black is back and dressing in this basic monochromatic look calls for black jewelry as well. Mixing matte and shiny black creates a very luxe look. If you are heading out to a holiday party and would prefer to add some drama, then bedazzling drusy or crystals is always a good way to go, but in a refined way now. My crocheted necklaces or stunning drusy pendants are the perfect addition for that daytime tailored suit or a night out on the town!
Above all - be YOU and have fun!
