I first picked up the "beading bug" when I would escort my beloved mother in law ("mom") to gems shows around the country.  She always seemed to know where all the gem shows were and as a few women around a bunch of guys - we always took off together to "shop for beads".   She was an accomplished beader in the Florida area - selling her beautiful creations at art shows in the area.  She had such an eye for color - something I admire even to this day.  I kept away from the hobby myself until I moved to Chicago, and pined for days on end about missing my home in Rhode Island.  My Mother in law - always a very strong woman and a realist - sent me a box of beads and said - "just bead until you make some friends and get yourself together."  I always appreciated her action oriented approach to life.

Well - that started quite a journey for me.  The encouragement from Mom and a study I was doing on gemstones of the bible started a passion in me that has yet to fade away!  While I have moved away from beading (those color combinations still haunt me) I love to go back to beading every once in a while as a way to remember how it all started.  I believe I am a stronger woman thanks to Mom's influence in my life.

Cancer took Ann DeVer in October of 2009.  Mom never flinched in the face of her diagnosis.  As with her entire life - she accepted it as part of her life, she continued to live her life, and she loved those around her.  She also loved Jesus Christ and we know exactly where she is - dancing and fishing with her Savior in heaven (fishing was her biggest passion!).

I dedicate this page to her memory.  Some of these designs are creations Mom made prior to her diagnosis.  Others are creations that I have made in memory of her.  All are here to bless you as she blessed so many others and of course are backed by my satisfaction and quality guarantee.  Enjoy them while they last.  Keep in mind that as I do not "jury" into art shows as a beader - I typically will not have these designs at local art shows - but you can always shop for some unique creations right here.
